Meridian helps you set your own screen-time limits and earn time back with exercise. It is built so that almost nothing about you needs to leave your iPhone, and the parts that do are listed in full below.
You can use all of Meridian without an account. Blocking apps, the camera rep counter, your streaks and your history all work signed out, forever. An account is requested only if you choose to use the friends leaderboard.
If you choose to use the friends leaderboard, you sign in with Apple and we store the following in our database (hosted by Supabase, on Amazon Web Services in the United States):

That is the complete list. We do not ask Apple for your email address. We do not store your age, gender, goals, workout sessions, or any per-app screen-time information on our server. The daily screen-time total is off by default and is a single number for the whole day — never a breakdown by app.
Your handle, display name, school and daily numbers are visible to people you have accepted as friends, and to no one else. There is no public or global leaderboard. Access is enforced by database-level security rules, not only by the app.
Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in on our behalf. Apple provides Sign in with Apple and, if you install through TestFlight, basic crash and installation information. Neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Open Settings → Friends → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your account, your handle, your friend connections and every daily number we hold, and revokes Meridian's Sign in with Apple token. It cannot be undone.
Your local data — streaks, history, blocks — is deliberately left alone, because losing a streak is a poor reason to hesitate over deleting a social account. To erase that as well, use Settings → Log Out & Reset, or delete the app.
Daily numbers are kept while your account exists so the board can show weekly totals, and are deleted with your account. Signing out does not delete anything; deleting your account does.
Meridian is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
You can see everything we hold about you inside the app — it is your handle, your display name, your school, your friends and your daily numbers. To request a copy or a correction, email us at the address below. Account deletion is available immediately in the app, as described above.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the effective date at the top and note the change in the app's release notes.
